Based on Ukrainian Mythology
Viy is a powerful creature coming from the underworld. It is said his eyes are covered with heavy eyelids that is difficult to be lifted with normal strength. If his eyes open, no mortal cannot escape its deadly gaze when it is casted upon, killing anyone in an instant.
This story is well-known as the first Slavic horror about monk, witch and dark creatures, written by Nikolay Gogol, famous ukranian-russian writer, in the 19th century. You will see a real Ukrainian everyday life, traditions, customs, get to know with culture of people Malorossija territory (Ukraine nowadays) as part of Russian Empire in 19 cent.
Performance is full of dances and songs from the best Russian SL singers.
