Scammers in Second Life

For some days, some scammers have been robbing unsuspecting Second Life users by pretending to be famous creators.

Scammers often go to places where there are highly visited events or situations and give avatars present objects with a captivating title such as “Catwa Bento Head GIFT” and “Lelutka Bento Head Unisex.

Of course, these are just examples, the imagination of scammers is remarkable, so I recommend paying attention to the objects you receive, especially to highly visited events or places.

If you distractedly accept an object from someone you don’t know or who pretends to be a famous creator, delete it immediately. You mustn’t wear or rez the object in question. Otherwise, you will authorize the scammer to take your lindens.

I also recommend removing the payment method after loading the amount you need: in this way you will be sure that they will not be able to charge you costs on your credit card or PayPal in case of account theft.

It is important to remember that creators generally distribute gifts and objects via redeliveries or panels found in the main store. No gift or item is delivered directly, so if you receive an item that comes from a creator directly, you can easily reject it.

If you accidentally lost some updates, you could get it again by going to the main store.

On the blog, you can find several messages posted on Facebook, both by those who suffered the theft and by creators who have been falsely impersonated by scammers.

If you, unfortunately, experience such a scam, immediately open a ticket to Linden Lab.
Falsely impersonated creators cannot refund you.

English or Italian for YouTube videos? Both are better.

I’ve always wondered if it’s better to make a video in Italian or English, and I finally found the answer to that question.

In fact, I think the best answer is to make a video in both languages, only that it is naturally challenging to make a video by speaking at the same time two different languages with perfect pronunciation.

That’s why I thought I’d use a simultaneous translator, a tool that allows me to have an immediate translation of what I’m saying.

The problem of language was solved mainly by focusing on subtitles and translation of the same subtitles.

The translation of subtitles takes a long time, and in any case, it requires that they are edited in the original language to have a perfect translation.

That is why I believe that a simultaneous translation of what is being said is perhaps the best solution to the YouTube communication problem. So my next videos there, though, with a simultaneous translator that allows me to communicate in English more immediately than using subtitles.

The best simultaneous translators are those who use artificial intelligence and who do not literally translate what you are saying.

A large number of simultaneous translators may be used even off-line and may also be used on the occasion of study or work travel.

I believe that they are also an excellent tool for learning a language if you are studying a particular language and generally have a wide range of languages available.

???? Limited Availability of New Second Life Regions

Hello guys, I decided to take a walk around, exploring Tokyo, a beautiful urban style sim.

While I walk around, I would like to talk with you about the recent communication by Linden Lab about the limited availability of new second life regions.

What’s happened?

It has happened that Linden Lab is no longer able to sell new regions. We talk about the areas that usually premium members buy directly from Second Life.

Second Life can’t create new regions, since in these latest months, because of this emergency because of the coronavirus, Second Life has sold all its available areas, and it can’t create ones without the risk of compromising the stability of the grid.

This limited region’s availability will be resolve when the process of migrating from Linden Lab servers to a cloud hosting service will be completed. When this process completes, Second Life will able to offer almost an unlimited number of regions.

Since this migration is in progress but not completed, actually Linden Lab must rely on the skills of its existing servers.

So, when new regions are available again? Linden Lab can’t do a specific forecast about this. Still, it says that probably areas will be intermittently available as existing regions are returned to them by their current owners. Due to the economic impact of the public health crisis, some limited number of landholdings may be returned to the general inventory in the coming weeks. It means that there may be some regions available on-and-off, but it is more likely that regular region sales will not resume until Second Life’s migration to the cloud is complete. While LL doesn’t have an exact date at this time, it anticipates it will be early fall.

So, what are your options if you are seeking land sooner?

  1. Owning land on the Mainland: LL can offer abandoned Mainland directly for sale with a range of various parcel sizes from 512sqm per parcel to an entire full region (minus infrastructure).
  2. Consider renting from an existing landholder: There are plenty of rental options available from established Second Life landholders right now if you do not need an entire region.
  3. You can also explore Land Auctions in Second Life: much like an auction on the popular auction-based shopping site eBay, Second Life Land Auctions allows individuals to place their bids on open inventory for available parcels across the virtual world.
  4. Some third-party sellers offer both parcels and full land rentals and sales.

It’s all for now, guys. If you like my videos, don’t forget to subscribe to my Youtube Channel, like sharing and commenting on my videos.
