Recently well known Second Life machinima maker Amelie Marcoud made a wonderful almost 17 minutes long video completely filmed in 1920s Berlin in the style of a silent movie.

It brings me so much joy to know that The Fiancée has been selected by an international film festival called Lift-Off. The film will be shown on Vimeo-On-Demand next month, amongst other magnificent filmmakers; some of which worked with Disney’s Pixar. I never thought any of my work could make a SL/RL crossover, it feels surreal. Once again thank you to everyone involved in the film and cheers to our first film laurels!

Maloe Vansant is a representative and well-known artist in the “art in Second Life” world. Her images, highly appreciated on Flickr, are a hymn to the woman, to her femininity, delicacy, strength, nonconformity, suffering, joy. To her life, in short. During her art exhibition at the Nitroglobus Roof Art Gallery, curated and owned by Dido Haas, Maloe exhibits some unpublished images that have as their central theme the woman. The title of the exhibition, “The moon lives in the lining of your skin,” is the last line of Pablo Neruda‘s poem “Ode to the beautiful nude.” Actually, in the Italian translation, something seems to be different: in fact, the last line of the poem reads, “under your foot lives the moon.” In the Italian translation, it seems to be a woman predominance, as if to say that the beauty of the moon can not compete with the woman’s one. That’s why the moon lives under her feet. Beyond this discussion about the purity of translation, Maloe Vansant wants to express her feelings, her sensitivity, just concerning the poetry of Pablo Neruda, “Ode to the beautiful nude.” In the images proposed by Vansant, it seems almost to see the rays of that moon hidden in the folds of the beautiful woman introduced in each shot. The beauty of the moon stands out in the night darkness, so too does the enchanting woman stand out in the shadows of the image. Located in the center of the gallery stands the statue entitled “Crisp” by Kai Konijin. Maloe Vansant has also recently exhibited at the DixMix Art Gallery. Maloe Vansant è un’artista rappresentativa e conosciuta nel panorama artistico di Second Life. Le sue immagini, apprezzatissime su Flickr, sono un inno alla donna, alla sua femminilità, delicatezza, forza, anticonformismo, sofferenza, gioia… alla sua vita, insomma. In occasione della sua esibizione artistica di immagini presso la Nitroglobus Roof Art Gallery, curata e di prorietà di Dido Haas, Maloe espone alcune immagini inedite che hanno come tema principale sempre la donna. Il titolo della esibizione “La luna abita nelle rughe della tua pelle” è l’ultima riga del poema di Pablo Neruda “Ode alla bella nuda“. In realtà, nella traduzione italiana, qualcosa sembra essere differente: infatti l’ultima riga della poesia recita “sotto il tuo piede vive la luna”. Nella traduzione italiana sembra esserci una predominanza della donna, come a dire, in parole semplice, che la bellezza della luna non può competere con la bellezza della donna. ecco perché la luna abita sotto i suoi piedi. Al di là di questa disquisizione sulla purezza della traduzione, Maloe Vansant desidera esprimere il suo sentire, i suoi sentimenti, la sua sensibilità, proprio in relazione alla poesia di Pablo Neruda, “Ode alla bella nuda”. Nelle immagini proposte dalla Vansant, infatti, sembra quasi di scorgere i raggi di quella luna nascosti nelle pieghe della bellissima donna proposta in ogni scatto fotografico. Così come la bellezza della luna risalta nella oscurità notturna, allo stesso modo l’incantevole donna spicca nelle ombre dell’immagine. Hello Kitty’s 45th birthday is an opportunity for joy and playfulness in both Second Life and Sansar.
The interesting aspect is that, also in SL, the event dedicated to the celebrations and designed by Astralia Resident, is similar to the experiences/worlds of Sansar. So strong interactivity and prizes for those who arrive at the end of the game.
Let’s first explore the event organized by Astralia Resident, owner of the homonymous brand “Astralia“.
Astralia has dedicated four sims to celebrate the 45th birthday of Hello Kitty (which is almost my age, since I’m 44 years old).
Upon arrival, a bot welcomes you and provides useful information and necessary to participate in the games offered by the event. In particular, it is essential to take the HUD, which is located in front of the ticket dispenser at the landing point. The HUD must be worn because it is used both to interact with the games and to take the gifts that you earn bypassing the various levels.
The information notecard is very detailed, so following it, it will not be difficult to overcome the various levels.
The structure created by Astralia and hosting the event is impressive. Every detail seems designed to excite and engage the visitor.
In addition to participating in various games and get the gifts made available by Astralia, I recommend stopping by her shop dedicated to Hello Kitty, which is located in the central area with respect to the overall structure.

“EXTRAPrimitives,” is open from 1 to 30 November: it’s the artistic installation by Nevereux.
It is with pleasure that I received her invitation: Nevereux is an artist with an eclectic style, able to change quickly under the thought she wants to convey. Her art is conceptual; she moves gracefully between 2D and 3D, reinventing her style from time to time. Her aesthetic taste and harmony are a trait that unites each installation and that the artist searches for and finds every time. In the most recent art installation, entitled “EXTRAprimitives” she searches for expressiveness in 3D and scripts. All suitably adapted to the feeling of the moment. In the presentation to the installation, Nevereux says:
I want to invite you to EXTRAprimitives – a project that I started in April 2018 for fun and without a big theme in mind, a project that I would not have completed without the support of people who believe in art. I think in love. But since art is love made public, I offer it to you.

Everyone will see EXTRAprimitives as an exciting and engaging installation. Interpretation is subjective, mainly because the project is born without a precise idea (as the artist herself points out).
I like the use Nevereux makes of 3D and scripts, I like the reference to the golden section (thanks to Van Loopen for the text), I like the harmony and elegance that this artist can convey with ease, making even complex installations seem simple.

Dal 1 al 30 Novembre è aperta al pubblico “EXTRAPrimitives“, l’installazione artistica di Nevereux.
E’ con piacere che ho ricevuto il suo invito: Nevereux è un’artista dallo stile eclettico, in grado di cambiare rapidamente in virtù del pensiero che desidera trasmettere. La sua arte è concettuale, si muove agilmente tra il 2D e il 3D reinventando il suo stile di volta in volta. Il tratto che accomuna ogni installazione è il gusto estetico e l’armonia che l’artista ricerca e trova in ogni esibizione.
Nella installazione artistica più recente, intitolata “EXTRAprimitives” ella ricerca l’espressività nel 3D e negli scripts. Il tutto opportunamente adattato al sentire del momento.
Nella presentazione alla installazione Nevereux dice:
Vorrei invitarti a EXTRAprimitives – un progetto che ho iniziato nell’aprile 2018 per divertimento e senza un grande tema in mente; un progetto che non avrei portato a termine senza il supporto di persone che credono nell’arte. Personalmente credo nell’amore. Ma siccome l’arte è amore reso pubblico, te lo offro.

Credo che ognuno vedrà EXTRAprimitives come un’installazione interessante e coinvolgente. L’interpretazione è soggettiva, soprattutto perché il progetto nasce senza un’idea precisa (come l’artista stessa precisa).
Mi piace l’uso che Nevereux fa del 3D e degli scripts, mi piace l’accenno alla sezione aurea (grazie Van Loopen per il riferimento), mi piace l’armonia e l’eleganza che questa artista riesce a trasmettere con disinvoltura, facendo sembrare semplici anche installazioni complesse.
