Hi, I’m Emma from ILoveEvents, or you may know me better as Oema in Second Life. I’m here to talk to you about a project that Violet Boa and I have started related to events in Second Life. We opened the website I love events.on, which, as the name suggests, deals with events as tools for bringing people together.

In fact, one of the fundamental aspects that I have seen, especially reading the posts of people on my Discord server, is that many people are looking for opportunities for interaction, opportunities to make friends, to spend time with people, to share common interests. It seems like a given, but in reality, finding opportunities to meet each other, even in a virtual world like Second Life, can sometimes be not so simple.

As always, Violet and I have divided the tasks, so Violet in particular deals with artistic and musical events, while I deal with shopping events. However, there is also another category of events that we deal with, namely sporting events, and obviously, even if to a much smaller extent, but still present, events that involve fundraising.

Everyone has the opportunity to enter their own event through a form that I have provided, and from which it is possible to communicate their event to us so that we can include it in the calendar. Our website actually has two calendars: the calendar of artistic and musical events and other minor events, and the calendar of shopping events. In this way, you can keep track of the situation and know that, depending on the events that interest you, you can consult one calendar or the other.

This project is something that Violet and I believe in strongly. In particular, I have always believed in the importance of promoting events through videos. Videos in Second Life are becoming increasingly popular, and this is something that makes me very happy. As a videomaker, as I have always been for many years in Second Life, I am enthusiastic about the fact that Second Life is now home to great videographers, and so I naturally want to share this aspect on my website by hiring people who create videos within Second Life who have the ability and the desire to create them within our project.

Well, the videos will therefore be naturally strongly promoted on iLoveEvents, and in particular they will also be used to promote and spread events, which are a greater form of bringing people together within Second Life. In fact, if it is true that an image is worth a thousand words, a video is worth more than a thousand images.
