July 19th, 11 AM SLT

Some instruments emerge from the wind, carrying the essence of ancient forests and deserted beaches. Others come from the earth, expressing human emotion with the tension of tight strings and the resonance of hollow wood. When these two forces meet in sequence, they do more than just follow each other; they complete a story. This July 19th at 11 AM SLT, the historic stages of Sanctuary, which opened in 2008, will host an afternoon of deliberate, exquisite contrast. By scheduling these two distinct masters back-to-back, we invite our audience to witness a seamless bridge connecting historical folklore and modern acoustic fire.

The journey begins in the quiet, mist-filled past. Ingrid Viken takes a step forward to paint the air with her flute, drawing from a rich repertoire of medieval, Celtic, and traditional European folk music. Her performance is a masterclass in subtlety, evoking the peaceful beauty of ancient stone chapels and windswept northern cliffs. Just as the air clears, the mood shifts from cool introspection to warm, vibrant activity. Classical guitarist Zahra Sarour takes the stage to perform Flamencofication, a brilliant exploration of Nouveau Flamenco. Zahra combines the intricate discipline of classical fingerstyle with the fiery, percussive rhythm of Spanish flamenco, transforming her guitar into a living, breathing heartbeat.

This is not a chance pairing; it is a carefully curated acoustic dialogue in which the airy flight of the flute finds a perfect anchor in the rhythmic pull of the nylon guitar strings. We invite you to take a break from the digital noise, find a quiet spot in our venue, and let this timeless instrumental collaboration wash over you.

Our doors are open to anyone looking for genuine creative depth.
