June 26th, 12PM SLT

The piano has a profound, transportive magic that is uniquely its own. When ivory keys are struck with true intent, they do more than just produce music; they create vast visual landscapes, evoke forgotten memories, and tell complex stories without saying a single word. Sanctuary invites you to step out of the frantic pace of daily life on June 26th, beginning at 12:00 PM SLT, and enter a realm of pure sonic storytelling where sound and cinema music intersect.

We are thrilled to welcome masterful composer David Shea to the stage for a spectacular live showcase: The Cinematic Piano. Set against our beautiful venue’s serene, elegant stone architecture and lush, vine-draped gazebos, this solo piano concert is meticulously crafted from works ranging from his official soundtracks to pieces inspired by Second Life experiences written for friends, and heartfelt tributes to cinema and legendary film directors.

David Shea is a true keyboard virtuoso, known for creating sweeping, emotionally rich arrangements in which each piece has a strong connection to its narrative source and story. In this one-of-a-kind performance, live piano sections will be expertly combined with pure atmosphere, spoken word, poetry, and evocative film dialogue samples. These elements, guided by the composer’s own stories and live read texts, come together to create a deeply immersive sound cinema event that will engage our collective cinematic memories.

Give yourself the gift of an unforgettable musical escape on June 26th at 12:00 PM SLT, where sound and storytelling are seamlessly interwoven. Please accept our heartfelt invitation to our home. Come close to the stage, relax in good company, and let David Shea’s magnificent cinematic soundscapes transport you.
